I usually put on a big show but the last couple of years didn't do anything. We've had a lot of moisture this year so I'm not worried about fires. Needless to say I blew an entire paycheck on this years festivities.

So who else is going crazy?

Not me. It's just not the same as it used to be.

Now my dogs go crazy which makes the wife go crazy and all the smoke just chokes us out. Not fun at all.

I used to buy bottle rockets by the gross and have wars with all the neighborhood kids. Black Cat firecrackers by the bundles would just be going off all day long. Cherry bombs and m-80's just for the fun of it. Even had Roman Candle battles. How did I ever live through all that?

That would be fun, but in California, you can only legally buy and use the "safe and sane" stuff, which is much less fun. None at all allowed in many cities now, including mine.

CHART OF THE DAY: Are Americans Getting Hosed On Fireworks?

Before you jet off for the long weekend, consider this oddity in the fireworks market. According to the American Pyrotechnics Association (APA), total volume demand for fireworks has collapsed over the last few years, but revenue has continue to march steadily higher. So, are Americans getting squeezed by fireworks inflation?

All over the I.E., many cities ban them...or restrict their sales/use. NOT SO in Fontana..you can blow up whatever you want...it's quite a (un-nerving) sight to see...

You live on the "good" side of town.

Sometimes it's like WWI, or WWII around here. :)hand
