I have the FAST wideband o2 sensor for E85 with duel O2 sensors and am trying to get a reading with open headers. I know it should not/will not work at all at an idle but can not get it to work at WOT either. The readings just jumble around with no rhyme or reason. My bungs are 6 inches from the ends. will extensions make a difference? I had the same problem with my old headers with 16 inches of pipe after the bungs/sensors. Is my sensor bad or is this just not a good idea for open headers?

I use an Innovate LM2 , my sensor is about 6-8" from the end of my 5" turbo dumps and it reads perfectly, even at idle. I do have mine in the outside of the bend though, with the straight collectors you may have to put them further from the end of the header, or slip some extensions on there. JMO.

Make sure to seal up any weep holes and plumbing that you may or may not have. Not sure about "proper" placement for the bung, but it makes sense to me that extending the tips a bit may help. I'm sure someone here will have some solid feedback.

Just read in one of your other threads that you are using slip on collectors... gunna want to make sure that union is 100% sealed too. Not exactly sure how to do that and not screw up the finish. I'd be curious to hear how you seal it all up.

Any air leaking into the exhaust stream will throw off the reading, and/or make it jump all over the place.

Good luck,
