looking for a decent used oil cooler, doesn't have to be polished or chromed as long as its in great shape internally and works!

are you looking for the type that goes in the water line? looks like a long tube with the little tubes inside of it.

Tom : that is how my block is , 1/2 filled .. , what oil temp are you running ?

I bought a used oil cooler and have not installed it yet . My mechanic did not think I needed it with the oil temp that I am running . But I wll install it one of these days for extra security . My oil temps is round 240-245 after about 10 hard pases

I just took my Heat gun with me and shot it at the pan after I made those 10 passes , I still check from time to time like this . I even installed a oil temp sending unit in the pan and never hooked it up .

With the turbo's on it , it wouldn't hurt to get a cooler on it then . There is two boats that run down here . Mild twin turbo's engines , and neither one has an oil coler ..

It just how hard the bottom end of the engine is working , that creates that heat in the pan I think ??

you got that and the valvetrain heat all built up in the oil pan and no way to cool down on this 1/2 filled block. this tt496 is punishing the shortblock:)sphss
