LOL. I have been wanting one for a while. I did a lot of research, 160 to 165 decibel is what real trains have. Any add that says more is lying. Definitely go air vs. electric, there is no comparison.

    Default Nathan Air Chime

I have a single horn, I believe it's a Nathan Air Chime P1. I'm not home or I'd look. I'm by no means an expert, but I believe the 1 represents the tone, and probably represents the diameter, length and maybe taper of the casting? But it's just a single horn. They usually come in a set of 3 or 5. I'd really like about 4 sets, one for each of our cars and our pontoon boat. But they seem crazy expensive. Then you need a pump, valve and tank for each vehicle. The tank should be relatively easy to make. But search YouTube and ebay? YouTube will give a good idea of the variety. One video even compares several. I'd like to find a reasonable source as there is likely a lot of them which have been removed from service on older trains. On ebay there's several packages of similar horns for a lot less money, which throws a red flag for me. Sounds like I'm contradicting myself, I want a reasonable price, but then I'm skeptical. I'm just afraid the relatively cheap ones will not preform well. And I think I came across a source for legitimate new train air horns, but they were in the $6-900 range if I remember correctly. Anyway, just wanted to give you a little of my rookie findings. Hopefully someone on here will have better knowledge or a great source.
    Good luck,
    Darin

Where and why? They sell kits at truck stops here in Utah. Obviously they shouldn't be used for toy purposes but they get attention when needed.

    Default Train horns

    Here you go: https://www.hornblasters.com/product...-air-horn-kits

A guy down the street from me has 5 horns on his Dodge truck. Kit was about $1500. There are no words to describe how loud it is. If you are standing in front of it, it hurts when he blasts it.

I have a 3 horn Nathan and you know when I'm here. On board compressor and air tank.

There's a vendor at the Pomona Swap Meet that sells every kind of horn known to man, including "Big Truck - Train Horns". He is located on the south-east corner
of Row 23, directly across from our swap spaces, Row 23, north-east!! I believe his chrome, 4 or 5 trumpet, air powered, "train-horns" sell for around $300.00. With air, the more air the louder !! Trust me - he's got a "Demo-table", try befor you buy !!!!!
