    Default V-drive rebuild/change of gears

Finally gathered the courage the pull the v-drive apart!
1.09 gears going in, 1.15 going out. Hope they will work great with the 327 that I have going in as well after the 305 have been taken out and sold.
SOO, all you v-drive experts please give me your thoughts he he
    Question:
I have read the rebuild tip s nd tricks at hotboatdatabase and will keep very close rack of where everthing is placed.
Bearings should be with zero play if they are sound right?
Have some play in both upper aft and lower fwd, have not pulled the rest of yet.
    N some pictures...

Soo a little update. Spring and summer is here, but have just gotten the v-drive rebuilt, with 1,09 now rather than the probably org mounted 1,15's.
Also changed the bearings as some showed signs of rust and not really smooth.
So hope that it will be a little more quite now... heared the bearings hissing earlier, not gear mesh..

Next stop is to get into the 327 to change head gaskets hope not more to be done.. but you never know until opened.. stay put!

Default Finally, it's on the water again!

After close to 4 years since I got the boat, it's for the first time not only looking fast, it's moving!
It took all summer with really early mornings (5 to 9 in the morning he he) to find the time that really was not there AND very warm summer for swe standard. Got the engine in and running early Aug, very short sea trail 3 weeks ago with non adjusted ign and plates that was off. But now! Re set plates and ign and dared to start opening secondaries. Now we are talking, earlier with the 305 with 1.15s it went out of breath at 4000rpm. Now with the 327 and 1.09s the thing sceamed to at least 6000rpm before I chickend out, also not daring to lift plate to let nose up. Better safe as my only experince is prevously sub 50mph and my guess is that I was above 70mph. Now I really understand how adictive these boats are!!! Am I satisfied? YES, it felt so alive! All the best fellow v-drivers!!!
Big thanks for all that have red, thought, written to get me going in the right direction.

    Thanks Eddie and 61 Sanger!

I will give some more feedback after having tested with gps active!

    And fc-pilot!
YES, moving the prop these 4mm made such a difference,it's nuts.
SO all the nickles found during washing up hull inside now makes perfect sense. Must have been that some of the other swe owners that had it before me don't undestand just how important these little details are!!!
As said before, working at Rolls-Royce marine, making making pre-designs since 10 years for propellers and shaftline for everything from Corvetts to Bulk carriers or Tankers. And still, these creatures are having natural laws that is hard to understand. I just compared the kw/m2 disc load of our propellers and it's so far of the scale you would not believe it... but it works, if you know your stuff.. and it's great fun learning!!
All the best here from a very distant Sweden.
Keep fingers crossed that I manage to get some time off for yet another run later today by my wife...
