I don't really care about who owns the site or what they do or don't do. I started coming here to learn how to work on and preserve my old boat. I got tons of help from lots of good people. It is about the members to me, not the site owner or their support. Ya, I belong to the other boat forums but it is mostly all BS posting. Nothing about projects, restorations, how-to, etc. Personally, I like the how-to questions and the threads of people restoring or maintaining their treasures the most. I try to share what I do to contribute. And, I like to come here to share boating stories and pics from events and trips we all participate in (or wish we could) and the history of this sport. I'm not interested in a "social" forum. I don't give a shit what you ate last night or where you are right now. That is why I still come here to look for boat related content. I hope we can keep this site alive because FartFace just doesn't offer anything of interest to me (other than the photos I was asking for...).
I get your point, and I agree with most of what you're saying. I think a lot of you guys think fart book is only about posting meals and taking selfies. This may be true for Rattle Can lou, but the rest of us don't use it for that.

Maybe you guys aren't aware of this, but there's a bunch of pages (groups) on fart book dedicated solely to our hobby. Once you've signed up on fart book you punch in these pages and join. You'll then see whatever the members post instead of the usual mundane crap posted by family members or work friends that have no life. lol

    Here's a partial list:

    Wild V-Drives II and more
    V-Drive Boats
    Lake hydros and flatbottoms
    Livin the v-drive life
    Needles River K boat association
    V-Drive Video Productions
    v-drive flattties
    Family flatbottoms/kindsvater boats
    Flatbottom (organization)
    Drag boat racing's golden years
    Drag boat racing classifieds

While I appreciate your partial list, some of which I'm already aware of and some not, that is what I dislike about facebook. There are so many groups, and it seems as though the number keeps growing. Everyone wants to have their own facebook group it seems. It takes forever to look at all of the various groups, even though they may be about the same topic, V-Drives for example. Then, there are the jet groups and the engine groups and the paint groups, then you get into regional. I can't keep up.
I don't get the concept of facebook, it seems very disorganized and difficult to re-locate topics.
I'm just old and don't get a lot things anymore apparently.

Maybe, I just understand how to navigate this site better, but it is still is one of the more informative sites. IMO
At one time, this site seemed to provide a wealth of good information. There is still a lot of good information being provided though and my favorite.

I know there were some who stopped visiting or posting because of others attacking or harassing them. Usually, it was by someone who seldom if ever posted anything useful, but were just intent on criticizing others. I don't see it as much now, but it still happens.

I have been out of Performance Boating for 20 years. However, I have followed this side for the past 8 yrs and Love it. I purchased a V-Drive Tunnel two years ago to rework so I'm now back in the sport and get valuable info from this site. Jokorace encouraged me to start a build thread on my project which I just posted today. I'm not on facebook, follow some on my wife's account. I will have to check out some of these sites to see for myself but can't imagine the detailed information can be better than what is on this site.

Yes, it's for sale. Billy said around $38k. Nice boat, owned by the guy that owns Competitive Trailers. I don't know him
