    Default Samantha,s Biesemeyer Build

As most of you know, Samantha,s Mandela was totaled last August at Long Beach. Before we made it home some wonderful people in the boat racing community donated funds towards a new boat. (As soon as I get permission I will share)
With the help and advice from other racers we are planning to debut this project at Parker for the spring race.
So now the work begins. Bottom pictures are as we brought the boat home.

    Default The work begins

Once the boat was flipped we found one side of the ride plate area was more than 1/4 lower than the other. With the advice from other racers we set a plan as to exactly how we wanted the bottom to be. The next phase is lots of sanding and filling.

I believe it was, last owner to actually use it was Eric Sperry.

Prior to Eric, I am not real clear of its history. Here is a photo of the same boat with an earlier paint scheme. Maybe you guys can help us.

I'm stoked to see this boat on the water. Samantha is a good driver, and it will be great to see her in a more competitive hull. Good luck guys! See you at Burley, if not before.

    Hi Kip
We had more fun with the Mandela than we ever imagined we would. Samantha is maturing into a very competitive driver, she is definitely ready for the upgrade. She has driven my boat during testing, she is very familiar with the difference.
I see you are doing some repairs to your boat. Good luck to ya, see you soon.

We filled and sanded so the dead rise at the strut is just a little over an inch, perfectly even both sides. The rocker is now 1/2 even on both sides, with a 14 ride plate area. Lots of glass work with very little filler.

How would a B-Boat ride if it had no rocker? And how would it ride if it had 1" of rocker? Does it just effect the straight away handling or does it change turning also?

    Thanks, Larry.
