I live in northern Mexico ( AKA: California ) I was in Seattle 20 some years ago and rode one of the ferry's over to Port Angeles. Fell asleep in the back of the van on the way over and when the attendant came to wake me up he woke up my dog "spot" I think that was the last time he ever stuck his head inside a car to wake somebody up Never been to the Unlimited museum. I know at one time the Seattle area was a HUGE venue for the unlimiteds . They still run them a lot up there?

Not sure what ferry you are talking about. Currently Port Angeles has a ferry system but it runs to Canada. Could it be Port Townsend? The ferries still run in most places, guess they have to, but most have been upgraded a touch since that photo! LOL!

Hydro Museum is in Kent. A big group of us went there this year for a tour. http://www.thunderboats.org/
The Seafair races are still in August and a big event. http://www.seafair.com/
Also smaller events held throughout the year in the state. Coming up June 7th is Tastin n Racin. http://www.tastinracin.com/

Now that you mention it, it was Port Townsend I went to, been a LONG time ago. The year I went there was a major bridge out and I had to drive WAYYYYYYYYYYaround to get back to Seattle. They've probably updated the "laundry service" in Tacoma by now also ?

If it was the Washington State ferries it was without a doubt the Pt.Townsend run. The hood canal bridge was down years ago.Ive worked for the ferries for almost 10yrs. But that bridge was down long before I worked there. Aaron

well small world! I am sure I have seen you then since I still ride the PD boat all the time over to Vashon to see my folks.

I have not sone the 4th of July run in YEARS but used to stay up all night and then hit them in the AM (often after a heavy night of drinking). My friends Tom (who works for WSF) and Kitt run it every year. I was hoping to catch it this year (been telling all my friends at Skagen Boats about it) but I ended up booking a trip down to Needles AZ for a weekend of boating. Still trying to convince a few of the group to go watch it without me...or enter if they have anything that can withold a good beating! I will for sure catch it in 2009 though. It was always a good time.
