    Default Anyone remember this boat?

Bought it a while back and wonder if anyone knows some history on it. It's a Hondo sprint t deck PC 49 driven by Mark Short called Sitting Duck. Has a old S.I.R.A sticker on it figured the northwest would be a good place to start.

At $100/ hp plus injection oil it's just to expensive to go that slow!

I don't think the boat was raced with those small numbers, I think it use to be a minimum of 12" or 14" high!

Yeah, thought the numbers were small compared to others I've seen pics of. Somebody sure went to allot of work making it look like a circle boat if it wasn't. It's runs off the crankshaft snub no balancer and has those drop through fins on the plates and an extra large steel turning fun were most have 1.

The only thing that doesn't look "circle boat" to me are the side tanks. Often times they were added to help sell to a wider ski boat market.

Thanks. I just sold my schiada and am getting her ready for summer. It's running a 427 solid roller 990 heads L88 forged pistons h beams rods and a balanced forged crank. Should rip pretty good previous owner said it did 90 on gps with the 19s in the box.

What HP/ cubic inches and gears would they run in the pro-comp class. Most of the old pics of PC boats I've seen look to be injected. What speed in the straights would they see? I'm kinda interested on the history that the boat might have.

Ok. It's only got one stainless tank on the right side just like my brothers sanger gulwing has. Would it for sure be running a t-tank behind the engine if raced? I might install one later. The tank in it has an ugly welding job around the filler. Really warped it from the heat. Also it has the water dumps along the drivers side like I've only seen on circle boats.

There's no "for sures" only what was "typical". I personally wouldn't want a single side tank that weighs heavy when full and possibly affects handling as it empties and gets lighter.

The PC class changed to the PS class many years ago. 500 inch limit and no blower or turbo. Anything else goes and injected on alcohol has the most power potential (theoretically) so many went that way.

The flying Kilo speed record is 137.586

thanks for all the great info! I think I might be looking for a nice T tank down the road. Would look allot better and make her handle better as well. I read about that kilo record being held by a Hondo sprint hull. Sweet looking boat, it almost has the same colours and paint sceme as mine. Looking through pics on the sites there wasn't many hondos and other hulls that run with the bessemiers especially k boats.

T tanks don't hold enough fuel, you'll want stacked tanks.

Yeah. that makes sence. I could go 3 hours in the schiada on one 10 gallon tank but with my 427 and 650dps I think more fuel would be a good thing. I don't think the old 390 was even opening the secondary's very much lol. Man there's not much left of that sanger circle runner. Must had a pretty good flip.
