Brand new to this site. Up in Bothell. Just bought a 77 Spectra and looking for anyone who may have a Spectra and any and all information I can gather on these boats, the 460 and Berk 12je pump I got. Plus anyone else in the area that goes up to Lake Sammamish or Lake Wa

Welcome and congrats on your purchase. As Eric mentioned, we all pretty much hang out over on Skagen and since you have a Spectra, you have a friend for life in Malcolm. Actually, there's a couple of them in the group. Very nice boats.

Once again, welcome and hope to see you on the water or at a gathering soon........john

No damit!!! The week before our son in law was laid off and we thought it would be best if we stuck closer to home and saved some money in case they need our help.

With that said, there's no way I'm missing next year........

    Did you make it????

How did I miss this post? We're almost neighbors! I thought I saw your name on Skagen's the other day...

We ran our 18 for 10 years, so I know it pretty well. Now that I got my 19 I'm having a little more fun.

As far as lakes go, most will beat you up pretty bad unless yours rides a lot better than mine did. Does it have a ride plate under the pump? I put one on mine and made it handle waves MUCH better. We run the Snohomish river, much easier on the back.

    Malcolm,
If its the plate under the pump then yep its got one. Took it out right before I got it and it rode pretty smooth for the short time we were out. Didnt even know til after I got it, but even has a fin mid length under neath. Good to know there is someone out there that knows these boats because Ill have a million questions in the time to come ha ha. Seems pretty solid hull on these Spectras. Now I just gotta figure out how to get the back bench seat out to do any work on the motor ha ha. Sounds like you have enjoyed the Spectras that you have....Thanks for the reply, hope to be talking to ya soon about them.

Sounds like yours is set up a lot better than ours is/was. It was our learning curve boat. All I did was keep a running engine in it all those years and eventually built a pump for it (Jacuzzi). Without the ride plate it would beat you to death in rough water, but other than that I liked the boat. The Spectra's are definately built tough. I've seen a few of them on Craig's list lately, which one did you end up with?

    Here is ours...

Good looking boat. Would like to see that thing blasting down the water way. I had a Sleekcraft about 10 years ago with the 455 and Jacuzzi set up. Oil in the motor and lube the 2 fittings on the pump and that was it. Never had a problem. This one is a bit different with the Berk pump on it and 460. Went to fire it up today, a little inspiration, and has alot of water coming out of the pump and the pass side exhaust, but no water coming out of the driver side. Is that common with the Berk pump set up when you are running on the hose? With my Jacuzzi, had no water coming out the pump and water coming out of both exhaust ports.
Anyway, ended with this 77, bought about 20 miles w of Longview. Was on the Portland CL

Nice score! Tandem axle trailer too!

Sounds fishy not getting water out both sides. Maybe something plugging the hose that goes to that riser?

Don't run them long on the hose, it's hard on the pump.

Naa, water out the pump and one exhaust is common on the garden hose with a berk. My last boat had a jacuzzi and it and water came out both exhaust hoses and not the pump so sounds normal to me. Where about outside of longview did you find the boat? I live in Longview
