    Default Tie downs

I'm sure this has been asked but i couldn't find it. There seams to be a lot of different thoughts on tying the back of the boat down to the trailer. Some say tie it down others say not too. Thanks

Not even an option in my mind...tie it down. My buddies v-drive flat came off the trailer during an emergency stop when a truck pulled out in front of him. Not only did it tear up the boat but the trailer too. The front stayed attached and bent the hell out of the front section of the trailer, just a mess that could have been prevented with tie downs....just my nickles worth

    Ditto here.

Brittney's trailer popped off the ball last year on the freeway and the boat stayed with the trailer and thankfully nobody was hurt.

WSP didn't even ticket her as they remarked how well she had the boat tied down...

I've been known to not tie the back down for short trips to the river, but whenever we are pulling out of town I strap it down. Probably should do it all the time, you never know when someone's going to slam on their brakes and ruin your whole day.

Life is all about ass, you're either covering it, hauling it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, or behaving like one.

Doesn't matter what we as boaters think. Follow the law if you want your insurance to cover you. Most States Require Tiedowns.

I always tie front and back down. Would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
