    Cool Snohomish River Sat

Looks like we will finally have a nice hot Saturday this week (even by John's standards). You know we'll have to hit the river...

It's gonna be a nice couple days...can't wait. I'll be heading south to Silver Lake Saturday but one of these days I'll cruise up and try the river with you Malcolm!

We boat between Lowell (Everett) and Snohomish (around 6 miles I think). It can get a little dicey with a prop sometimes (especially above Snohomish), and being early in the season I can't really say how much crap is floating downstream... I've only been on it once this year and I didn't travel the whole strip to see what's changed. There's a low tide at 10:30 so we're going to give it till 1:00 or so to turn around. Late in the evening there is usually some crap that backs up from the log yards out in the bay, usually small chunks of bark and stuff. If you wanna come up, call our cell and we'll meet you at the ramp and guide you up to the sandbar (where the real fun begins).

91 forcast for Sat. This has to be a close to a record. All you NW guys have fun.

How is this heat going to affect the level of CDA Lake? I'll be hoping for the best.

Turned out the hot weather caused the snow to melt like mad and the river went crazy. We chickened out and went down to Lake Samammish for a couple hours, then got tired of the rat race and came back up to the river anyway. We had a few logs and twigs to go around but still managed to enjoy ourselves even though our sandbars were all underwater.
