Default More info on CdA lake no wake

As of 2:30 we were .17 feet from flood stage.

I called the Kootenai County Sheriff's department and asked a few questions.

Public disclosure of the no wake zone designation will be going out via traditional media outlets in the morning, i.e. newspapers and TV.
    No postings at launch sites.

A normal wake zone violation is $57 with no indication on your record.

A flood stage wake zone violation is a misdemeanor and will be sorted out in court!

The deputies will be a bit lenient since official word will just be out about the no wake zone, but will definitely ticket repeat offenders.

Now the bad news... expect this to last thru memorial weekend.

Hopefully is cools back down quickly after Sunday. CDA can get ugly when it floods.

    Hang in there guys

You would rather drive all the way down to Havasu rather than stay here and go to Roosevelt, Banks Lake, Pend Oreille or Priest Lake..just curious as to why you would spend the time and gas..I think we might head up to Upper Priest and boatin camp...Jess

Hey Jess; ClownRoyal has a house in Havi, his boat is in Havi, he'll fly and not drive and you can't even begin to compare the lakes in the NW to Havi on Memorial. Go to Havi and you will see for yourself. It's a no brainer!!

His boat is already down there.... been there all winter.

A quick flight to vegas and a 2 hour drive from there. Not that big a deal.

    I was out both days....

Didn't make it too far from the north end of the lake.

Ton of people out and about. More then expected.

Saturday went to Hayden..pretty quiet..still thinking about going to Upper Priest for the holiday..someone school me on Havi during the holiday...is it better because it's hotter or more crowds, what's the deal..Jess

Forgot to mention that there was very little debris in Hayden..was the debris a problem in CDA? How about the cops, were they out and about at the ramps..

We were out Saturday on the north end, but over towards the Higgin's launch. Saw a couple of boats and jet skiis with full wake, but mostly not.

It was really strange floating in the middle of the lake and have it so calm, not too often that can happen on a 90 degree day.

Didn't see one sheriff, but I know they were out, heard a couple of guys got arrested. Did see a little debris, nothing like Lake Chelan however.

Pat, who's boats do you sell? Am I wrong in the assumption sales are a little soft? I have a good friend that sells boats down at Long Beach Yacht Sales..he claims business is way down except for some repo stuff...the repo's that come in are in bad shape with most of the outdrives missing..half the time the engines are gone..interior has been removed..

Priest Lake is currently 8" above summer level and expected to rise (how much?), not bad but we need to watch for debris.
