    Hey Everyone,
Just looking for places to go while im in laughlin.Going with my wife and havent been on the river. We are going Sunday-wednesday and have to leave the jet boat at home unfortunately. We will be bringing our new Yamaha FX 4 stroke waverunner though. Any places to recommend or even places to fish while we are on the river?

If you have not already done so, take a ride to the Topock Gorge. It is a nice ride. Up on Lake Mohave you can launch from Telephone Cove early in the AM for a nice ride. Early is better before the wind comes up. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the replies everyone!! How far is topock from Laughlin? We are staying at the Aquarius. Also, where does everyone recommend launching? No 4wd. Just a 2wd aviator

The Avi is clean and free with a Room.

We use Jack Smyth Park in Needles. The River is deeper there.

It is a solid run from Laughlin to the Gorge.

Thanks for the info. What's solid? 45-hour on a waverunner? I don't think many will be out there this Monday and Tuesday

Its been quite a while but I think it's at least an hour from Laughlin marina to topock. Whatch out for the shallow water! Stay to the east side of river as much as possible. Should be a good run. Have fun!

Once you get to the Gorge you might as well ride down to the famous Sandbar for lunch.

    Default The avi

We stayed at the KOA there loved the campground. Not sure if the rooms are good but liked everything else. Clean nice people and close to the river, but not close to the big casinos. Have a good trip but be aware of the river never ran it and never will with out help. We have a boat. You might be ok but talk to the locals. Have a good time. It is very cool to float then run up in the pm from what we saw from the beach at the AVI.

Thanks for all the info everyone. We launched out of Riverside since there wasnt that many people on the river. We stayed around the casinos and the dam then headed to down river to Avi. We grabbed lunch and headed back. There were a few spots where it was shallow but we were on our waverunner so it wasnt too bad. Had a great time out there. cant wait to go back

We launch at jack smith. Not far to pirates cove from there. Great bar, good food. There's a pretty cool rope swing on the bridge where the highway goes over. And the sandbar is always fun. We do it many times on a Seadoo. If your really dareing we've gone all the way to London bridge from jack smith, then you have the mall, restaurants and the channel.
