Default East meets west Bartlett (recap)

No doubt one of my best days boating ever. Water was flat all day long and you could take speed runs at will. Kept the old Ford pinned for most the day and burned all my gas. Horseshoes, beverages, amazing eats (thanks Vin dog and Big Ern aka grillmasters), great group of people and thanks to all for the hospitality. Got to meet lots of new people and get reacquainted with others I already knew. We have absolutely got to do this again.

    Only two regrets.

    1. Left last night and shoulda, coulda, woulda stayed and ran again today. Quite a few stayed and are still there. (almost went back up this morning, but have to take care of some things here at the house).

    2. Letty (my girlfriend) couldn't be there due to having to work.

Thanks again to everyone. It was friggin awesome.

P.S. I can't believe I got sunburnt as hell on February 28th. Gotta love Arizona in the winter. 84 degrees yesterday.

No shit! I look like a racoon. Was a good day. I had to leave early as I felt like I was getting the flu. Took a shower when I got home ate and took some vitamin C. I feel better today but still have a little something. Had to work. I'll get some pics up later today.

I second that. Yesterday was a great day. Good to see you again Dan. I got to put a face to many names. I wish I had brought the RV and the family and stayed the night but now I know for next time. Everyone was really cool and I have to say there are so many great people in this little group. It was nice to see everyone that I already know and great to meet all the new faces.

P.S.-Mike thanks for the help, I need new tires and probably a 4x4!

Thanks for the ride man. That was pretty cool. Definitely different than a jet.

That last little sprint that we were in towards the end? I picked up a stick in my pump and had to limp it back in to shore. Funny........ran all day and didn't have any problems till then. Got to try clearing my impeller through the recessed transom cover I made (first time). Works like a champ. You can spin the pump shaft because it's on the ratchet (jetaway) and just spin the impeller until you feel the obstruction and clear it. Beats the heck out of crawling underneath and doing through the intake.

P.S. if anybody found a Harwood scoop plug floating on the lake, I lost mine. Must've blown out on one of my 100 mph passes. LOL

I saw a bunch of flashes going off. I hope those pics make it on here. This boat loves the wind. I filled up at the docks came back then did another lap around the lake. When I returned you all were gone. No worries Dale. We'll do this again real soon. Hopefully in Yuma.
How was brunch with the X
