    Default Naegleria fowleria question

    Good morning all.

I am starting to schedule some trips to Havasu and Mead this summer, but was wondering about the Naegleria fowleria (Ameoba) news from last year.

I have tried to research the subject, but was wondering what everyone thoughts were about this subject matter.

I have two young children and although the chances of being effected are high, there is still no sure cure. Thanks.

You have a higher risk of being killed on the drive out there than you do of getting a case of the brain eating ameoba.

Don't go swimming in warm and stagnant water and don't kick up the bottom where you are swimming. And no matter what type of water your in try not to get it up your nose. It can happen at any lake though. Just stay out of the muck.

Tell everyone to stay away from Havasu! It is dangerous beyond belief!!! Lake Mohave is much better for all types of boating, fishing, boarding and swimming. See a guy named Tom up there. He is the ultimate tour guide.

I hear the ocean has sharks, the mountians have Lions, the artic has polor bears, and the gang activity in most metropolitian areas is pretty bad.

I'd be more worried about the snapping turtles in Lake Havasu, then the Naegleria Fowleria brain eating ameoba. Didn't the emergency center there have 23 cases of swimmers getting toes and fingers snapped off, last season?
