Default Ok Phoenix, one more time...

It's definite that I'm moving to Phoenix before the end of the year, I've worked out some of the differences my future employer and I had. That being said, I liked what I saw when I drove out there last week, I like the West side (closer to the river ) What can you guys tell me about El Mirage, Surprise, Goodyear, Buckeye, Tolleson. Thanks for all the replies to my Tucson thread, one more round of eliminations and I'll be heading out to go house hunting, let's hear what y'all think. Oh yeah, I'll probably be working all over the valley so I'll be commuting no matter where I live.

Thanks again, once I get there I'll host all y'all to a Tri Tip BeerBQ you won't forget!

The farther North you go in the West Valley the better the schools. I also believe the neighborhoods are better farther North but I'll refer you to crime statistics which will verify the statements. I live in North Peoria by choice and have for the past 28 years while raising our six children who now live by us with one exception (California - Ugh!)

Can I vote to undo some of the shit the libitards before me have pushed through? Is the West side a good area? Though like I said, I'm not restricted to where I live being close to my work, I'll always be on the move work-wise. I have a freind in Surprise and he seems to like it, wish he'd answer his damn phone!

Are you going to be working in Tucson?? Driving from the west side to tucson, not a good idea, not good at all. That 10 is a piece of work, it could take you an hour just to get to phoenix. I went to Parker for the 300, took 2 hours and 45 minutes, at 5 am. It took me 4.5 hours to get home, the 10 was at a stand still at 5pm. It's nice out west, but not if you have to go east.

Everyone has their opinions so here's mine:
The Northwest Valley offers close proximity to Lake Pleasant, (which I prefer over Saguaro) The river, California, (I go almost monthly) we have freeways built here before our growth got saturated and I prefer that to overlaying them after the fact and we have the major stadiums minutes from home. I think our quality of life is as good here as anywhere in the Valley and I'm staying here even though we could live anywhere we wanted.

North West side is awesome. We are full up on this side

If you have a larger boat then Pleasant is cool. The doc is one of many exceptions. I've read the post of the v drives run there. But its a nasty lake when the wind picks up. Just like any other sept the swells there are wel, Swells

Any place in Az will be better than what he and his wife is leaving. Im of coarse bias. I still have many friends in Cali. Most hate it but its home.

The West side is where many other Californicators have moved to. They just managed to close another riding spot over there. A spot that has been a gathering spot for many many years for us who ride fast quads. Who would guess that dust in the desert would be a problem. Heck we're in a desert.lol.

All six of my kids learned to ski on Pleasant in an 18' Hallett Flat V-drive. The largest boat I've ever owned is the 21' Schiada R/C we have now. Everything else is a V-Drive Flat and we love Pleasant.

There's really nothing wrong or all that right about any part of the Valley. It's all opinion and I love the NW. Here we are a couple weeks ago with a little boat the boys built.

Well, welcome to the Valley Lil Brother? (Lil?, hell your a foot taller than me!)

You won't like Pleasant with the Hallett, from what I'm told. My brother wants me to take Moo out there to the Cove, but kinda waiting to try that maybe next spring when its calm first. Been told it's a lot like Havasu on Spring Break. Good news is, east side lakes are no further for you from there than they are to me from here.

I think the West side is as good as many parts of the east side. When my late wife and I looked at her taking a job out here, she interviewed with, and had job offers from, damn near every district in the valley. East side is the only ones back then that even offered priority pre-school, which is what her doctorate was in.

Oh, and just ignore and love Jimmy! East Valley's far from full up! We can't take any more LIBERAL fornicans, however, and he is our watchdog. And one of the best guys on the water, or otherwise, I've ever met!

That being said, have a cousin lives in N Peoria as well, and loves it! Friends in Surprise as well, and love that too.

Well I'm actually trying to get the hell out of California, maybe the Westside isn't where I need to be, I need to be near a Waffle House and a Cracker Barrel, oh yeah freeways and lakes would help too !

you've got a tough decision to make. i just moved from the east valley to the far north west valley(peoria). we did it mostly for the shorter drive to parker, prescott and just everywhere west in general. lol. it cut 1-2 hours off of our drive times easily. not to mention the smokin deal we got on the 3,000sqft home on almost a 1/2 acre lot. also we can leave our house on our rzr-s and literally drive as far as we'd like out in the desert, with our guns

as for lake pleasant, in the summer, if i'm boating in my boat, you will find me at parker or maybe blythe even though we are 15 mins away from it, maybe 20 now that the new traffic light at carefree and lake pleasant road will be on soon. it was about time. during the summer weekdays and winter it is good in my book.

we considered the same areas that you were thinking but our realtor(friend) suggested we steer clear. apparently those areas are starting to get alot of drop houses, crime, ect you get my drift. i go into surprise sometimes from where i live for work and its a miserable drive(traffic) even though its only a few miles. i'm sure they have everything you need out there but its a long drive to the airport, downtown, games, ect. not that it isn't far from my place but grand ave and bell road sucks out there!

now all of this should depend on where you have to work because i couldn't imagine having to work in the east valley and living in the west valley. all in all i love where we are and wouldn't trade it for anywhere. (no offense to my eastside friends)
