Default I40 to Havasu.....20 miles outside of Barstow....JetSki Track?

I have driven by this thing a ton of times and always wondered what it is. It looks like a man made Jet Ski or jet boat track. Never seen anyone ever on it or any life around it. It is about 20 miles outside of Barstow on the 40 going to Havasu, near the Newbury Springs exit.

Anyone know why it was built and how the heck they keep all the water in it?

I actually saw two lice on it late last summer. Looked like the right place for them. They cant torpedo boats there...just goes around in circles.

I think he used to rent it to teach Jetski racing.

It can't be nearly as bad as Firebird.

That would be interesting to know, I've also driven past that place several times and always wondered.
