    Default Lake Mead ???

I was in Las Vegas this past weekend and was thinking maybe bringing my boat back up when I visit family.

What is there at Mead? Like are there any beaches? Where do the locals go? Is it Clickish? any party spots? I'm prolly headed back in a few months when it heats up. Should I just head to Laughlin

There are a lot of beaches on Mead most hang out around Sandy Beach but there are other places that are still good. Never really notice if it was clickish lol but then again lived in Boulder City most of my life. Bring your boat dude it’s all good!

Sweet. Next trip is in around 2 months maybe sooner. Water was freaking Blue as blue could be from the road. I'm good with Clicks I can Blend.lol Whats the distance to Sandy Beach? My Blown tunnel can get thirsty. Do they sell AV Gas on the water or at least 91? I can detune on the spot. I would have stayed this week too if I had brought my boat.

I was up there at Temple in March. Love that lake! It can get treacherous quick tho. PM Nordie on the boards here . He lives there and is on it all the time with his lil Tahiti. Theres a bunch of 'em up there, great group of guys! Terry runs his blown flattie quite often as well, I think you'd be fine.

We spend most of our summers at Lake Mead. We hang out at Sandy Beach sometines, but usually we have a big enough group where we typically find out own beaches. 98% of everyone we meet there is very cool, non - clickish. We have been known to meet people and hang out with them on several trips thereafter. Plus... nights in Vegas after... Comeon... it doesnt get better than that!

My sis lives in Vegas. Housings isnt a problem. Fuel is my concern. Since I left my tennis shoes there I may have a reason to head back sooner than planned.lol I'd rather run the AV gas but If I know that the fuel dock is low octane I can de-tune. I'm shooting for the Meth Injection before I go. 87 may be a reality soon.

Ray I'll let you know when I head up.

The Sag is closer just in case there are any unforeseen issues.

most fuel on the lake is the cheap crap. theres a place in boulder city that sells 110 and the rebel station sells 101. sandy isnt that far from las vegas marine so one tank will be plenty. Lakes up this year so far, just stay away from the shorelines

Yeah, but Las Vegas Marina is closed, permanently, from what I understand. CAllville's still open, and Boulder on that side. A few on the Az side like Temple Bar as well.

Yes - your best bet is Boulder for fuel. If you are really worried about running out you could put in at Callville it is the closest ramp to any of the sandy beaches.

I am in the process of moving from the SF Bay Area to Henderson, NV. I should be in the water by no later than the middle of June. I am also interested in finding out where people hang out on Lake Mead. How far is Sandy Beach from Callville Marina? The wife and I would like to meet some new friends that are into boating and like to party also. Are there events on the Lake for July 4? I am thankful for any information that you might be able to send my way.

    Thanks, Gary

Welcome to southern Nevada! There aren’t a lot of sandy beaches however I think there is enough to go around. Big Sandy is maybe 5 min. from Callville. 4th of July is usually what you make of it, most of the festivities are in Boulder City as far as fireworks, party’s ect. I did hear a rumor that one of the marinas was going to have a live band but I am not for sure on that. At any rate see you on the water.
