    Default Hotels in Yuma??

For the past five years, we have been staying at the Microtel Inn off Fortuna Rd when we go to the river. It's a nice hotel and serves our family needs well. We were thinking of looking at other hotels in Yuma when we go to the river this season.

So, do you guys know of any other hotels that our good and boat friendly. My main concerns are boat/truck security, close to restaurants and gas stations. Any recommendations will help.

    Thanks.

Well, with the current construction situation on 16th st and the I-8 area, that area of town is kinda out. There is a new Holiday Inn and Springhill Suites right off the I-8 and 3e. Just heading a mile north on 3e you will hit hwy 95 and only 20-25 mins from the river at this point. Both of these hotels are only a few years old. I constantly see semis parked in the parking lots, so a boat should be no problem.

    Springhill Suites: 1825 E 18TH St, Yuma, AZ 85365
    (928) 783-7853

    Holiday Inn: 1901 E 18TH St, Yuma, AZ 85365
    (928) 782-9300

The two are next door to each other so the decision is basically what your needs are.

I got caught up in the construction traffic with the boat. It was bad. I was hoping it was finished by now.

Does anyone have any info about the new casino off the 8 freeway. I think it's called the Quechan Casino and Resort. It looks new and pretty good from the freeway. Was thinking about taking the wife there when we don't have the kids.

I have not stayed there, tried to for a concert one night, but it was full. They always have a fireworks display which the kids will like.

    Hey Tony:

There is a Comfort Inn right on Fortuna next to the Pizza Hut it is relatively new and I would try it. Not sure what your budget is.

The Quechan Casino would not be my bet with a boat in tow or if you have the kids.

The Microtel is nice because it has a pool and you can walk to Crazy Earls and get blasted and walk back. Plus the grocery store is right there pick up beer drinks and ice and roll to the Rio. Hard to beat in my opinion.

its actually a resprt (the Q casino) and has tons of shit for kids to do, has a deal called the lazy river that you can float around on tubes for. kids are welcome in the casino because it is a resort. bitchen place, stayed there once, and it was VERY reasonable, like $65 buck a and it was a night they were havin a concert!! thats my vote... youre 15 minutes on the freeway til fortuna there, then back on 95 and another 15 minutes to the river!!

The shilo is nice, right in the new mall, but you have to go through construction (Only a quarter mile of it) to get to it. Its just old now, older than my 24 years i believe haha. theres a couple resturants down there (buffalo wild wings, chilis, ah-so) and a theater for the kids and stuff.

I remember the days between moves from Martinez to Hidden Shores and the Microtel was just hard to beat. I like everything within walking distance and quick hop to either launching at Hidden Shores or Martinez/Fishers.

Did I mention fuel at every corner and easy to roll into with a boat.

Tough to beat that location---unless they had a hotel with a bigger pool with a bar on the side hmmmmm.

We always stayed at the Microtel, reasonable, easy to get to, groceries. If we are out there you are more then welcome to leave your boat near my place, we will keep an eye on it for you, I can back my Jeep under it so no one messes with it. That will save you some drive time, just a thought.
