We went to the races in Elephant Butte this past weekend. What a great event. I had never been to a "club" type event before. I am not meaning any disrespect. I am comparing this with the events at Firebird. Which is a huge event to participate in. There was only about 15 or so boats there and they ran two gambler classes a day. They had A 1000' course with timing tree lights and et's.The lights are the IHBA setup with the IHBA rescue boat. The boats were making at least 10 passes a day. This could be a great training or testing deal. The SWDBA had there stuff together and put on a good show. I think we were one of the few spectators not with a boat. The beach area for camping had beach sand on it and would be great for staying there. I give this place a ten for anyone needing seat time, practice on the lights or just a test and tune. It's 7 hours from Phoenix about the same as going to California. No stress great people and just down home racing. I'll be back next year.
PS These guys know how to race to lots of boats cutting good lights and running .05 off there number. They had everything running from Alky Hydro's to lake boats.
