    Default Vegas: boat friendly neighborhoods?

we live in socal, but are thinking of buying a small vacation home in the vegas area while prices are in the tank and interest rates are low.

we are looking at probably the eastern henderson area near that part of lake mead, so we can drive to temple bar or on down toward bullhead and lake mohave, near where the wife's grandparents live.

    anyhow, to the questions:

-this will not be a primary residence and does not have to be very big. 1000 square feet will be fine.

-must have 2-car garage. deep garage for boats a plus, but not neccessary. my boats are 15 and 16 feet anyway. they can fit in a normal garage.

-gated community would be nice, since we will not be there full time, but not required

    -preferably NO homeowner's association

    BUT

-if there is a homeowner's association, it MUST NOT be unfriendly to boats and boaters. i do most of my maintenance, an don't want to be hassled for working on my boats in the driveway

any ideas/recommendations? am i pipe dreaming?

Alot of HOA's allow 4 hours for staging, otherwise the boat has to be off the street and out of sight. If no HOA you still have the problem of storing them. One boat on a trailer may fit diagonally but I doubt two would. Garages are small here,( I moved from LHC) and was suprised how small.
