    Default New Glass

Thought I would post a few pics up of the new build. Finally get to build one for me!!! lol

Joel at Genesis is doing it in 1708 mat with 100% vinyl-ester resin. Colors will be a wine blend (blood red to burgundy) to three red let down fades for pins with 1/8" platnum silver pin lines between them. I'm putting a 1/2" wood transom in for strength with 1" doug fir stringers. The floor will be strake to strake and match the transom. Hoping for right around 600, not going to be a drag boat, just a nice river hot rod that will stay in my garage until the day I no longer walk the face of the earth..lol

I hope the rumor is not true, but from what I understand this mold might be put to death by the new owner... Doesn't make any sense to me at all, but I'm gettin mine....... I'll post em up as they come along

I have never seen one one of the new owners boats in person, but it makes no sense why someone would go thru the trouble of spending X amount of dollars on a mold only to trash it unless they were intimidated by it's success. Seems retarded not to use a mold so new with the care that was taken to retool this dude. With that said, congrats on the build! I see some hints of your previous gel designs, as well as others in this, lookin good, keep the pics comin!

Kinda burns my ass too Coby..... When I sold it I was under the impression that it would be replacing the existing mold and be put to good use. I seriously hope that the rumor is just that, a rumor, and that it is intended to be used....

At any rate, it's his and he can do with it what he wants to... I just may be hitting you up soon Josh for some hints and measurements..... Learned a little on every boat so I can only hope it comes out nice. If I can get the rigging half as clean as yours I'll be happy......

This is boat number 10 so one day I would love to have a Rouse regatta and get all of em together.....

Just too busy at my normal job to keep up with it and we got so busy with trailers, I had to draw the line somewhere.... The nail in the coffin was CARB out here in CA making it illegal to operate one without cat converters, etc. That meant I could never sell a boat with power, which greatly affects the profitability of building these things. I would have kept doing it, but now the feds have jumped on board and the EPA has adopted a version of CA law, so you wont even be able to register one of these things new without a hang tag from the EPA approved motor. If anybody has any hopes of getting a NEW boat, my suggestion is get in now before all states require the same thing.

I figured it had to do something with the Pelosi ass lickers in your neck of the woods . There's alot of operations just like yours goin out of business everyday due to the loops they have to go through just to try to run a business. I've been eyeballin the 1 in the boats sale thread

And Trav your comment hit the nail on the head buddy but that shit is gonna head east 1 day

600 lbs???? damn! wonder what mines weighs then, you put a 3/4" sheet of wood in my transom, the bulkhead, and two deck supports that go from the bulkhead to the nose. that crap that Rick used is pretty thick as well, even though it may nto weigh much, makes for some tight areas when you are rigging it out. but, hopefully i dont have to worry about stress cracks. I dont know what mine weighs, but i picked the ass end up off the trailer by myself.....the front was a different story. You can tell it weighs more in the front than my old Condor, ir sits more level in the water, and the nose rolls over better when cruising.

Were using the same lamination schedule as yours, just 1/4 thinner transom. But, my stringers are a bit fatter than yours so it will most likely be very close in weight. I'm estimating 600 + or minus a few. The last one we weighed had 3/4 in transom with a full stringer to stringer floor and it was 620, so that's a good rough estimate..
