So what kinda duration @.050 and lobe sep are you guys running? I'm only going to be at 10:1 with my 557 with heads that only flow around 320cfm @ a little over .600 lift so I don't want to go real big.

Yeah that's one of the reasons I didn't build the 557 yet Travis. I was going to wait until I got a nice set of heads but screw it now. It should still make the boat quicker due to the torque.

Bobby, what heads were you thinking for this big motor! Ford or aftermarket? There is a guy on the boards here that knows his Fords and he could steer you in the right direction!
Is this cam you have Hyd or solid lift?

The little cam I'm running now is hydraulic flat tappet. The 557 came with a mechanical roller that is .712 lift, 274 duration @ .050 and 110 lobe sep. I just think that is way too big for a 10:1 motor and heads that may not let it make hp over 6,000rpm?

I'll eventually save the money to get some p51's or better but any super good head I buy I'll have to change pistons or fly cut mine.

Call John Partridge at Bullet. He will sell you a cam but he will also tell you to run the one you got.
