    Default The Dyno Room

Ok! Talked to Gearhead! The 620 may see the dyno as early as next Tuesday! The intake will be swapped over after those pulls made with that sweet sheetmetal intake, and then pulls made with the Profiler intake and single dommie, if a day or so later to let the gasket material dry between swaps to prevent oil leaks. Theories range from 75 horses to 100 down from the sheetmetal. Thing is...I can't afford those two dommies and that sheetmetal intake right now! I wanna be on the lakes this year!

Here's the pic as it'll be dynoed with the 2 - 4's and the next 2 pics are the single on the Profiler with the nitrous setups. Not sure if we'll spray on the dyno. If we do, it'll only be the plate system; I'll bring a full bottle in case!

What have you guys got in the works, motor-wise? Dynoing before the spring? Post up! I'll be using Gear's dyno...it's known to break a few hearts...

Man thats a hell of a mill. I would really like to dyno my little motor. We guess it to be around 700hp. 482 47cc weisco pistons 325 dart pro 1's dominator 1150. Runs good for what I do. Any guess as to what the 620 is gonna turn?

    Default 620

When I was talking to Steven about this engine going into his new ride, he said he was hoping for 1000 out of it. That included the sheetmetal and 2 carbs. That's a real sweet setup, with a real pro setting up those carbs with the shear plates under them and with the ramps to keep the carbs level while underway. If he was shooting for 1,000...it'll do it. Question is...how much will I lose by going to the single. I know that the Profiler is supposed to be the single carb intake to have, but the other setup is just perfect.

I'll be disappointed if the drop is extreme, but how can it not be?

Here's a link to my past engine at Steven's on the dyno...

Im digging the run against the outboard and throwing the tail on him. Its like throwing the hazards in a street race, just rubs it in..

    Default Run against outboard

I beat him, but only cause he was asleep! He was catching me! Think there was about 8 mph difference between our trap speeds! I was running SE that year and only wanted to run that with the 150 shot to see what she'd do. I wanted a pic with the tail in the air so I told the photographers to get several good shots. He was running ME and prob left late on me because he knew he could take me at the top end.

    He didn't!

    Default How fast

John, How much speed do these Wingers need? Think you might need Scotty to build you a tunnel? I can’t spell that word that means been there before but you have. Your Snowball is rolling. Just saying you ain’t no cat. That thing is gonna be fast.

That 620 ought to be mean. I need enough power to air it out like the Red Dragon here:

    Default 9 lives

Nah. I don't think I'll need any more lives than I have already used up! Last Aug my boat picked up 16 mph with a 350 shot of N2O. It will be fast, that's for sure!

All I really want is a 10.000 1/4 mile boat on motor. Anything extra is gravy. If it's a little quicker, I can tune the boat to slow down. Less diverter, less wedge, etc. If it's not fast enough, I'll get another 1250 dommie and a tunnel ram!

Playin on the river and lakes is where things will likely get hairy. I'll stay out of the beer until after the runnin' is done.

See if I can find an old one of the Pit Lizard Express in the air...

I bet if feels funny on the keel like that. Do they bump the sides or do they usually stay up on the keel till they sit down? I remember the first time out in the gullwing and it lifted felt different than my pickleforks. They didnt lift as fast or as noticable.
