I had a great time helping Travis custom paint his winger! We took Travis and Ashleys ideas and mixed in a few of mine and the results speak for themselves! Travis had the boat under basecoat /clear coat charcoal and sanded ready for tape.Painting the bottom and top is a whole other job-which he had nicely done!We sized it up and got started a lil on Friday night. But a party broke out so we had to make a showin...Got started really taping it up on Sat mornin around 8:30...
Got the design layed out and masks installed -time for travis to spray the silver!
with the silver on-took 6-8 coats -house of color doesnt cover well...time to tape the silver outline off-alot of work for a 1/4" stripe!!!! with it taped up wiped down and tacked it was time for the blue-
An awesome color took several coats-20 minutes or so apart-then a drying time of about an hour before i could tape on the blue. I'm always a little worried about the tape lifting the basecoat...But Travis knows how to lay it down-never was a problem -all lines are clean.Same process-tape off the blue outline and ready for the PURPLE!!
looks blue-but its shimrin purple -an awesome color!
After the purple dryed for a beer or two-we peeled her down and prepped for travis to blow clear on...By this time i think its around 7:00pm..,
Took a couple more hours to clear...It was a marathon-but we did it! Travis and I worked very good as team! It was a smooth job!
Pics dont do this boat justice-it turned out AWESOME!!! You'll just have to see it yourself at the DIG!!!
Travis really likes the FADE... yes-you have been TEXICANIZED in 12 hours...and WT laughed when i said we gots SKILLZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!
I enjoyed it bud!!!Thamks again for the great food and fun!
