    Default Hotbo's Diggin' It!

I had a great time helping Travis custom paint his winger! We took Travis and Ashleys ideas and mixed in a few of mine and the results speak for themselves! Travis had the boat under basecoat /clear coat charcoal and sanded ready for tape.Painting the bottom and top is a whole other job-which he had nicely done!We sized it up and got started a lil on Friday night. But a party broke out so we had to make a showin...Got started really taping it up on Sat mornin around 8:30...

An awesome color took several coats-20 minutes or so apart-then a drying time of about an hour before i could tape on the blue. I'm always a little worried about the tape lifting the basecoat...But Travis knows how to lay it down-never was a problem -all lines are clean.Same process-tape off the blue outline and ready for the PURPLE!!

After the purple dryed for a beer or two-we peeled her down and prepped for travis to blow clear on...By this time i think its around 7:00pm..,

Took a couple more hours to clear...It was a marathon-but we did it! Travis and I worked very good as team! It was a smooth job!
Pics dont do this boat justice-it turned out AWESOME!!! You'll just have to see it yourself at the DIG!!!

Thanks guys...it was a marathon for sure! I'm a lil tired still myself! After doing this job i have a whole new appreciation of symetric paint jobs! It is really tough to lay lines right next to each other and keep the design the same! I used a few old tricks to get it right.A yard stick and templates go along way!!! I'm just happy to see the awesome results. Travis's color choices are killer!Travis-i think sanding and reclearing will complete it! You can bury all the lines. (if any aren't already buried!!!!) Travis's upholstery is awesome-matches perfect! Hats off to Maggie at Scott's marine! And also to see the quality of Scott's glasswork-made me want to paint the floors they are so slick and nice!!!!You build a killer boat Scott! Travis get your azz busy them cars gotta go!!!!
