    Default Life jacket

I'm looking to buy me a new jacket.Something that would actually help out in case of accident. In 1999 when i crashed the jacket came over my head and tried to drown me... Its hard to swim with a shoulder outta socket and a life jacket wrapped around your head!!!! Something we all need to consider! any ideas on what and where to buy?
    AND WHAT DO YOU WEAR?

    Default Deist

I wear one made by Deist Safety. Similar to a Lifeline, it is a racing style that buckles around the thighs also. It covers you up through at least the 10.00 ME class and it appears TE also (yay!). Custom colors are available though they aren't listed. Mine is all black and cost about 600.

For u guys on a budget... You can buy used lifeline jackets from lifeline, my race jacket was a used piece, but I can't tell that it was ever used, I heard that most of their used jackets get cleaned exceptionally well before resale. I think I have 350 in mine direct from lifeline with the normal certification. It has the neck collar, thigh straps and other safety buckles. Plus later on you can trade it in back at lifeline like you do a car

I spoke with a rep at Lifeline yesterday and he said they had a pretty good collection of used jackets .. He told me to measure my chest, stomach, and waist and need my height and weight. I'm gonna see what they have to offer and I'll let yal know ..

I got mine new from lifeline color matched to my boat. I also got the helmet and head restraint system from them at the same time!!! We all spend a ton of money in our boats but sometimes get upset how expsensive safety gear is. You cant put a pricetag on your a$$ IMO

I agree with your thinking. My thoughts are.... "if it will save a trip to the hospital, then it is well worth the price!" As per Warhawk, we don't mind spending the money on the go, but then bawk at the cost of safety equipment. At my age, I don't come back near as fast from even minor injuries. So, the next best thing... don't get injured or at least minimize the possibility. IMO, a little insurance is a good thing
