    Default Carb setup question

I have a lot of good help from Blue, but I'm completely new to carbs... What settings do you guys think I should start at, and where to go from there? My boat stutters a lot as it is, but that could be from too much fuel pressure or too much jet...or both for all I know. My setup...

    440" de-stroked BBC
    12 to 1 forged
    Tunnel ram
    Holley 660's
    Holley 130gph manual pump
8an lines from tanks to fuel rail
    No pressure regulator
    Jets are at 71

My first step that I know I need to do (now after running it and seeing 8-10psi) is put a pressure regulator on it. I have a Holley that is 3/8" in/out that I'll put on this week and dial in at 6.5-7psi (a tip from a buddy that races dirt track....again, I know nearly nothing about carbs)

I need help on EVERYTHING carb related... So far I know how to adjust the air, and how to adjust the levels of the floats, and how to change jets. Beyond that, I'm lost. Any help is appreciated!

    Default 660's

Tigertooth set up a pair of 660's for me that worked like a dream and reduced my fuel consumption at the same time! The long slot that controls when the secondaries come in can be modified. He put center-hung float bowls on it, turned the carbs sideways, added a second set of metering blocks also. Those carbs were really nice. Too bad I sold them with the old engine. Contact this man. Scott. "Tigertooth" on these boards. You won't be disappointed!

Way to much fuel pressure, put a reg on it and try it about 6.5 or 7 and see how that responds

Yeah I was out there this weekend... Did I get a chance to meet you? I'm horrible with names.

We just switched it over from an electric fuel pump with 2 regulators, to a Holley manual that was supposed to not have to have a regulator but it looks like it needs one. It was loading up and blubbering really bad this weekend. I had to paddle my way in once when it started spitting fuel out the primary vent on the front carb Lol. I think the float got stuck then though, I'm not really sure. I tapped on the front of the carb with a screwdriver and it ran okay after that.

You might have alittle to much fuel pump also but put a reg on it and set the floats and see what see does .. Make sure your filter looks good also, might have alittle trash in it

I had 660s on mine and the damn boat would run worth a shit but Tint had sum and loved em .. Once you get em dialed in there pretty good

    good luck
