Default Online Honesty / Integrity / Deadbeat pieces of shiznit!

I just want to say thank you to those I have dealt with on here that are on the up and up! I have bought a few things through eBay - that great used part marketplace most of use from time to time.

Until recently, I have never had a problem with anyone online, but lately, this one clown has taken up a lot of my time and all of my patience!

Some of you know the story - said he'd ship it out...didn't respond to my emails...until I started a dispute through paypal that froze his account. Hell...he CALLED then!Told me on the phone his girlfriend was supposed to ship it and just found it in her car. (1050 dominator - real easy to lose under the Mc Donald's wrappers). In his response through paypal, his reason was she lost the shipping slip. So...onto the carburetor itself.

The carb he sent me is in a 9375 box, but is actually an older (non screw-in air bleed carb with the raised lip around the venturis) 8082.

So upon FINALLY getting the carb (12 days after he received payment) it turns out to be mis-represented and the wrong freaking carb! I composed a fairly nice email and sent it to him explaining what he did was wrong, and that I would invoice him and upon receipt of the $ in my paypal account, I would ship him the carburetor. After no response (shock and awe) I sent him a text message (thanks for calling!) letting him know to check his email and his paypal - that he sent the wrong carb. He immediately responded that he was in there right then and to invoice him - and he thanked me for my understanding. My understanding is GONE!

Here in about 30 minutes, me the wife and little man are headed to Little Rock to look at buying a Tahoe. About an hour after that - I am buying another carb and if he's not come through with the $ by then...I'll let paypal settle it and freeze his account again.

Hey! Bob in South Carolina bought my old 496 through Travis on here. I just sold my old 1250 and Profiler intake to Jack. Is it so hard to tell the truth and NOT try and scam anyone?

Ok. I'm done ranting. For now.

I am going through something like this now with someone here on the boards! Said he wanted all these parts and we made a deal! Then he wouldn't respond to my PMs then when I posted the stuff back up to sale! He responded and said he just got back in town! But, the kicker is that you can look at their history and see when they were last on line! And I posted PMs to him while he was on line and no replys! Now I am playing a waiting game to see if all this goes through! It is just bad when someone wants some of your goods and someone holds you up!

Was this the carb that was in pieces! Good luck with your transaction!

I've only been burned once since I've been buying stuff online. It was like $100 for a pair of mufflers and paypal wouldn't do anything about it because he didn't have any $ in his account. This was like '04 right after I got back from Iraq the first time. Some guys on the board got me the dudes address, in OKC, I was almost at the point of just driving up there and curb stomping him to make a point but being a LEO I had to hold back and just hope karma catches up to the pos.

That Sucks! It's hard to trust people who are selling things when things like that happen.
I had something similar happen to me through ebay/paypal once. I bought an item and it NEVER arrived. I took it up with paypal and they actually returned my money...I couldn't believe it!
    Best of luck next time!

Nope. This was not the carb in pieces! That guy at least shipped promptly. He just didn't wrap it up very well. UPS is now "looking into it" and kinda being shady. At least that guy is honest and I have the right carb. In pieces.

Oh well. One step at a time. I did buy another carb a litle while ago. Hope it's fine!
