Default 1st Jet Boat (Texas Restrictions?)

Just bought my first jet, 1978 Condor Sprint. I plan on running on Toledo Bend, thats where my camp is. But I may run over to Sam Rayburn also. Does anyone know of any restrictions on these lakes?

    Thanks

I don't know about these lakes restrictions but you need baffels in the exhaust if over the transom! These two lakes you speak of are very large bodys of water and if you are running an 18'-19' boat be very careful low profile boats and large waves will sink them! Know your area! Just my .02!

I have heard baffles are required and I think there is a 200mph limit....... Enjoy your new toy!!!

Along with Texoma and Livingston those are the biggest lakes in Texas! You need to hook up with some of the guys on www.texashotboats.com ...and find some rivers and smaller lakes...or cruise close to the edge! X2 WideTrack!

or head due north and hit it with us!

    Default rayburn /toledeo

rayburn is much more open than toledo. most folks hang at snake island out of twin dykes on rayburn. it can get very rough very quik.so if wind comes up go hide. toledo not as bad more stick up's and most folks hang at texas island down by the dam.

as for TPW i usually run baffles or water at both lakes and no hot rodding around other boats. wear my pfd and kill switch to avoid any unnecessary attention. always anchor bow out to avoid being swamped by jet ski's. i prefer rayburn .plenty of beaches and open water. hopefully there will be enough water in both of them to enjoy this year. hearing talk of a canal between the two lakes to help offset flooding and help control levels.

    Default Rayburn/Toledo

Thanks for the information, looks like i may have to buy some baffles. I know both bodies of water very well, I've lived here and fished both lakes all my life, and yes they can get bad in a hurry.

Does anyone know of any jet/performance type shops in Texas?
