Seized Motor or Jet Pump

I took my boat out today and had a problem. The boat ran fine and I stopped for a few minutes. I turned it on again and heard a grinding sound. I slow down and turn it off. It would not crank over and not sure if the pump bearings went out and would cause the motor to seize. The oil pressure was fine and engine temp was fine. Needless to say, a passerby towed me in. I'm takin it to my motor guy tomorrow but am hoping its just the pump. Any suggestions? Thanks

The starter doesn't bump over. That is for the advice. I'll definitely let you guys know tomorrow.
Check all your electrical connections. Ignition switch, battery terminals, connections to the starter and all grounds. No matter whether your pump or engine has seized, the starter should still energize if it has not failed and all connections are good. Let us know.

Does the motor bump over now? That doesn't seem like enough the completely stall a starter motor. And hopin for you i am wrong.

Good thing it's not ur engine. Looks like your ready for a rebuild on the pump and a new impeller. A lot of people do it but I also learned the hard way to quit starting my boat on the trailer with my 1st jet. Not sayin it did but That could have caused the wear. Them pumps need water !!!!!

Pumps are not designed to be able to run dry, you need to limit the this. A quick fire up is about all you really should do if anything.. If you need to tune the engine either disconnect the driveline or tune the engine in the water.

Does the pump spin over with the bowl off?

I don't see anything real major as far as damage, are the bushings in the bowl still there and look ok?
