After finding a milk shake oil dipstick and milkshake sludge on the bottom of my intake manifold, I had my heads sent out to get checked. They checked out okay but was wondering what everyone is using for their gasket sets. Heading to havasu next week and am limited on my downtime. The big question is running automotive gaskets going to cause me the same problem? I am already investing in a water pressure guage, relief valve and thermostat kit

Help me get back on the water :). Thanks in advance

The biggest diffence between stock automotive gaskets and marine gaskets is the material - steel vs stainless. (Hi performance stuff is often stainless) This is very important to people boating in SALT water. I worked at a marina in my college years - often a customer would assemble an SBC with stock auto replacement gaskets. Before the season was done the steel combustion rings would rust out and water would poor into the cylinder.

Since you are not boating is salt water don't sweat the marine vs auto. Just buy quality.
