I have a 2004 496 HO with the easy water drain system. The sytem no longer works when you pump it full of air and now the engine is blowing water out of the drain system valves when I am under way. I mean alot of water. Enough to sink the boat if it went unnoticed. The problem does not exist as long as the boat is on the trailer no mater what rpm I run it at. Has anyone ever seen this problem and what is the fix. Any help would be appreciated

A Few Things Could Make This System Leak.one Would Be Was The Engine Winterized ? Maybe The Air Releef Valve Is Not Fully Closed.did You Pull Up On The Ring A Few Times ? Is The Water Coming Out The Orange Nippel Straight Down Under The Air Releef Manifold Assy That Is In The BilGE On The Port Side. If Not More Then Likely The Plastic Actuator Is Cracked Or Has A Internel Problem.some Of The Merc Tecks That Work At The Marinea's Seem's To Think That Actuator Assembly Will Fail Do To Algee If The Boat Stay's In The Water For A Long Time.could Be A Loose Hose Clamp Or Missing The Blue Plug Or It's O Ring That Screws In To The Side Of The Actuator By The Orange Nippel.you Normely Find All This On The Hose But You Might Not Have The Right Amount Of Water [psi]from Your Hose At The House.just So You Know When We Run Them On The Trailer And Watch The Water [psi]on The Scan Tool It Will Be From .01-3.5 Or So When Reving The Engine, and On The Lake It Will Go As Hi As Around 17.5 [psi].do You Live Where It Will Freez? Do You Have A Bravo 1 Or 3?. If You Have A B 1 Make Shur You Read The Story In On The Dyno Alarm Over 1000 Rpm Abouat The Impeller.good Luck Hope This Helps.

Never had any of them stick open. Actually, I have never USED mine. I run mine once a month, so it would be a moot point.

Mine is doing the exact same thing! I have been trying to figure out WHERE this leak was coming from and finally found it! Can someone show me some pictures of what they did to repalce it with the "brass sink drain tubing?!" This thing fills up the bilge and i never noticed it UNTILL my BILGE PUMP went out!!! MAJOR problems then!

I pulled up on it when I took the picture and didn't hear any air come out of it. I haven't tried while its running though. Honestly, I didn't know what it did, but I always saw it there - so i was a bit scared to pull it then.
